Recommended Air Sampling Methods for Mould Inspections In Edmonton

Taking air samples during a mould inspection is important for several reasons. Mold spores are not visible to the naked eye, and the types of mold present can often be determine air sampled through laboratory analysis of the air samples. Having samples analyzed can also help provide evidence of the scope and severity of a mold problem, as well as aid in assessing human exposure to mould spores. After remediation, new samples are typically taken to help ensure that all mold has been successfully removed.

Three Myths Busted About Home Inspections and Condos

I see this almost daily in my line of work as a home inspector. All the reasons why a home buyer doesn't need to get a home inspection.

I have hired other home inspectors before and they did a very poor job
My house is new, it doesn't need an inspection
Home inspections cost too much
I am a DIYer and I can recognize all the potential issues in a home
There are no home inspectors available when I was ready to purchase
My home is specialized, so a home inspector will not know what to do

New Report Shows Edmonton And Area Homes Steady But Sales Down 2016

Home prices in the Edmonton area remained steady in September compared to a year ago, but sales continued to decline, a report by the Realtors Association of Edmonton shows.

While the average value of single-family homes is down slightly from the 2014 peak, condos remain the same and duplex row houses are up, association chair Steve Sedgwick said Tuesday.

“The real story here is how our average prices have remained virtually unaffected by the higher inventory and slowdown in sales,” he said.

Six Things To Know When Hiring A Home Inspector In Edmonton

Marchuk’s multi-year homeowner nightmare began when she noticed a puddle on the basement floor after a heavy rainstorm. That led to finding a crack under a work table. When the table was moved out of the way, there turned out to be a gaping hole in the foundation.

The more she looked for problems, the more she found them. Studs had rotted. The one wall in the basement that was covered in drywall when she bought the house turned out to be in even worse shape.
